Postcards from Ravenskeld
Since July, we’ve been settling in to our 1970 Airstream Overlander (yes, that’s right!) in the western foothills of the Dragoon Mountains, camping out while Jonathan finishes building the interior of the custom steel home (which right now is a big, open furniture warehouse with a washer-dryer in one corner, and a little makeshift office in another).
We have been busy meeting all the new-to-us wildlife who share our home, and getting our Tucson home on the market (it’s currently under contract). When we are not enslaved to the dozens of migrating hummingbirds (rufous, broad-tailed, and black-chinned) by day and the dozens of nectar-feeding bats by night (they are going through about 1.5 to 2 liters of sugar water per day), or putting out water for the herd of 12-15 mule deer, we are exploring the nearby Cochise Stronghold in the Dragoon Mountains by bicycle and on foot.
Roseann has also started a project of creating a watercolor postcard every few days, to add to a Victorian postcard box and, per chance, to be mailed to friends and customers at random . . . so keep your eye out! [October 19: added new postcards.]
